Press Release: First Curtain Raiser Event of International Day of Yoga 2023 organized by CGI Guangzhou in cooperation with Parma Eco Valley on 6 March 2023:
 

Consulate General of India, Guangzhou organised the First Curtain Raiser Event of International Day of Yoga 2023 in cooperation with Parma Eco Valley on 6 March 2023. Parma Eco Valley is an organization in Guangdong Province that promotes Yoga, Ayurveda, Sattvik vegetarian eating as well as a holistic healthy lifestyle. The event was well attended by about 80 yoga enthusiasts.

2. The event was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by H.E. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador of India to China, Mrs Shruti Rawat, Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki and Mr Danny Lau, Founder of Eco Valley. Yoga Guru Mr Mani chanted the Mantra and explained the auspicious significance of lighting of the lamp at the beginning of an event.

3. Consul General delivered welcome remarks and gave an introduction of Ambassador to the gathering. He also described the activities being regularly undertaken by the Consulate for the promotion of Yoga & Ayurveda in South China. Following this, Ambassador delivered his Keynote Address in which he appreciated the activities of Parma Eco Valley in promoting India’s ancient wisdoms of Yoga and Ayurveda. Ambassador also highlighted the motto of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to bring the ancient traditions to modern times.

4. During the event, Yoga Teacher Mr Ajay Kumar of Zoefan Yoga Education Company demonstrated Office Chair Yoga for specifically releasing tension of neck and shoulder muscles. This was followed by a talk on Ayurveda by an Ayurveda Expert Dr Dane Shafeeque.

5. During the event, Ambassador Shri Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Mrs Shruti Rawat along with Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki also planted the Vajraya Tree to mark the inauguration of the first curtain raiser event of International Day of Yoga 2023 in South China.

6. In run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2023, Consulate is planning to organize various curtain raiser events in partnership with many yoga schools and institutions.
