The Government of India has launched ‘Digital India’ Initiative to make digital literacy in India to the next level and use information technology to create a participative, transparent and response government. The approximately US$ 17 billion initiative aims to provide digital resources in Indian languages; citizens not required to submit physical documents, etc.; seamless integration across various government departments; and providing high-speed internet, mobile phone and bank account enabling participation in digital and financial space and creating a safe and secure cyber space. The ‘Digital India’ Initiative provides opportunities for all national and international players in IT, computers and networking to participate and benefit in various ways.
