Celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti:
Consulate General of India, Guangzhou celebrated Gandhi Jayanti to commemorate the 154th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October 2023. The event saw an enthusiastic participation from Indian Diaspora and Friends of India.
Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki paid floral tributes to Gandhiji and highlighted the relevance of Gandhiji’s teachings in today’s world in his welcome remarks. He also encouraged everyone to take inspiration from the life and philosophy of Gandhiji.
This was followed by a short documentary on the prolific life and journey of Mahatma Gandhi. Various artists paid a tribute to Gandhiji by singing Prayers, Bhajans and Songs dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi during the solemn occasion. The event also included an inspiring Meditation Session conducted by Brahma Kumari Sapna ji on the theme ‘Be the Change’.
Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki also inaugurated the Special Photo Exhibition on the ‘Life and Legacy of Mahatma Gandhi’ at the Consulate premises to commemorate the 154th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today. The event concluded with everyone offering floral tributes to Gandhiji.
