Global Housing Technology Challenge

India's urban population is expected to reach 40% by 2030, contributing to 75% of India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) due to rapid urbanization. To get large scale housing construction in minimum time and cost with optimum use of resources and environment friendly practices, with the use of best available construction technologies across the globe, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of Indian has launched "Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC- India)".
GHTC- India intends to get best globally available innovative construction technologies through a challenge process. It seeks to demonstrate and deliver ready to live-in houses in a shorter time, with lower cost and quality construction in a sustainable manner. It also seeks to promote future technologies, to foster an environment of research and development in the country.
The challenge shall have three components viz.
i) Conduct of Grand Expo-cum-Conference (on 01-02 March 2019)
ii) Identifying Proven Demonstrable Technologies from across the world and
iii) Promoting Potential Technologies through the establishment of Affordable Sustainable Housing Accelerators- India (ASHA-India) for incubation support.
