Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Government of India, Consulate General of India, Guangzhou and Invest India organized “Make in India” Investment Promotion Seminar, with special focus on Leather and Footwear Industry, in Guangzhou on 26 Dec 2018. Council for Leather Exports (India) delegation also participated in the seminar.
2. The seminar was supported by Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, the Association of Guangdong Shoes Manufacturers and Guangdong Shoes Materials Association. Over 150 Chinese business people related to Leather and Footwear Industry participated in the seminar.
3. Speakers from the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Invest India , Council for Leather Exports and Consulate General of India, Guangzhou explained different aspects of investment opportunities in Leather and Footwear sector in India and invited the participants to make in India. The presentations were followed by QnA.
4. The extent of participation and questions from the participants gave the sense that there is keen interest among Chinese business people to invest in India. Consulate General of India, Guangzhou will continue to work with Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion and Invest India to further promote India as top investment destination.
