President Shri Pranab Mukherjee visited Guangzhou on 24-25 May on the first stop of his three-day State visit to China. The President on 24th attended Indian community reception and addressed more than 400 Indian nationals and PIOs from various parts of China. Mr. Zhu Xiaodan, Governor of Guangdong Province, called on the President on 25th May and the two leaders addressed an India-China Business Forum, which was attended by 200 top executives of Chinese companies and a high-level Indian business delegation as well as officials. Mr. Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee called on President and held bilateral meeting and hosted a banquet in honor of the President on 25th May. The President made a boat tour on the Pearl River on the evening of 24th May and, on 25th May, visited the Hualin Temple, dedicated to the Indian Monk Bodhidharma, and presented a brass statue of Lord Buddha to the temple.
